McCoy Farm is a historic home, farm, and national historic district located in Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

Albert McCoy Farm has been a historic cornerstone to the community, as well as a physical reminder of the rural landscape during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Albert McCoy originally acquired 370 acres from the estate of his late father Marshall Rudolphus McCoy (1807-1854). Farming began around 1880 and the property has been in continuous agricultural use since that time.

Maria & Jack Thomson are natives of North Carolina and have managed McCoy Farm since 2021. As an active preservationist and having restored the home and farm buildings in 2003 for the McCoy family, Jack offers a wealth of knowledge and exceptional stewardship for the heritage of McCoy Farm. As our passion for providing the community with ethical farm practices and resource sustainability deepened, we were compelled to develop a business plan honoring both the family patriarch, Albert McCoy and current property owner, Thomas Hatton McCoy.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Free Range, Local, Farm Fresh Eggs

Purchase free-range local eggs and enjoy the taste of freshness and quality provided from our farms natural resources.

We prioritize protecting the environment, including soil health, water quality, and biodiversity. We allow our chickens to roam and move coop locations in a sequence designed to improve soil health, prevent erosion, avoid nutrient depletion, suppress weeds and reduce pests and disease problems.

How to Buy McCoy Farm Eggs.

Egg purchase is on the honor policy and first come, first serve. Cost is $5.00 per dozen. Please recycle your cartons or return cartons.

If cooler is out by road, eggs are probably available.

Put cash in wallet and make change if needed.

Limit purchase to 2 dz. per family, per daily visit.

Eggs will likely not be out if raining. We will do our best to update the SOLD OUT signage when applicable.

Eggs will need to be washed, especially during summer.

We try to collect eggs daily and put eggs out by road for sale. Please understand we work full time and are also foster parents. We do not have a set time for collecting eggs, but try to collect after lunch.

Feel free to text 704 619 0793 to see if eggs are available prior to making a trip out to farm. I also will accommodate order requests via text msgs when there's an egg shortage.

McCoy Farm Produce

Our Seasonal Produce Program allows customers to receive a produce box throughout summer/fall based upon harvest. "You get what you get, and you don't pitch a fit."

Produce pick-ups will be available weekly or bi-weekly depending upon harvest. Participants receive identical produce boxes with price ranging between $10-18 each pickup. Program participants are guaranteed to receive an abundant and affordable bounty that's tasty and fresh. A bouquet of flowers grown in our garden, also included.

Families may choose Sun PM or Wed PM pickup. Program offers flexibility to skip weeks, as needed and usually runs late June - September. Please contact us if you are interested in participating in this summers porch pick up program. Please note there are limited slots available and an initial program deposit may be required.

Sustainable practices are achieved using crops rotation, cover crops, raised beds to minimize water waste and pest management using natural practices.
